ANCHOR INTRO: Starbucks workers across the country are continuing to strike this weekend in an effort to unionize . NPR's Lydia Calitri has more:

SCRIPT: More than a thousand baristas at about 100 stores are walking out , including at the flagship roastery in Seattle. The three-day strike is the latest effort by Starbucks Workers United to protest what they claim are unfair labor practices , including understaffing , the closing of unionized stores and the company refusing to negotiate. More than 260 Starbucks stores nationwide have voted to unionize over the past year, but none have secured a contract . Starbucks blames workers united for the lack of progress at the bargaining table, but it says it remains focused on working with the union to move the process forward. Lydia Calitri , NPR News
